Regardless of what Nintendo intended for theHellValleySkyTree, though, the figures have spawned some creative explanations for their potential origin. The 'Hell Valley Sky Trees' legend is an urban legend revolving around the 2010 3-D platforming game Super Mario Galaxy 2. When put in reverse, the zombies can be heard to be saying Oh God, help Help me and Get it off me. They are found in a valley in the sky, which would explain the next parts of the name, leaving these figures as nothing more than alien-looking trees. Oddly enough, the three figures are actually a built in as part of the skybox. Headcrab zombies are pretty creepy by themselves - the way they move towards you, how they came to be but the secret of their cries is the most horrifying thing. "Hell" could simply refer to a hot area, like Shiverburn Galaxy with its lava. ![]() Of course, the strange file name could be just that - a bizarre but descriptive name that has no alternate meaning behind it. The trees they inhabit are said to be on the inner reaches of mountains, though, and the developers may have put them in as a sort of spooky extra. Why they appear in Super Mario Galaxy 2 no one (outside Nintendo) knows. 'BeyondHellValleySky' identifies the background and sky textures and 'Tree' refers to the figures themselves. By dissecting the name, "Hell Valley" could reference the winter hot springs, Jigokudani, and the "Sky Trees" could be based on kind tree spirits known as Kodama. According to YouTuber Geek Remix, there may be a benevolent side to these inactive figures. There are some possible explanations that could make sense of these mysterious figures.
